This was made by the GillyMac Designs Senior Sewing Group who meet every Friday to sew together. It was created for the Festival of Quilts, 2014 and took two months to make.
The girls pixillated the sunflower image themselves, chose the fabric colours and built the piece together.
The biggest challenge was the size.
We took it to a Long Arm Quilter who taught the girls how to ‘McTavish’ (a long arm quilting technique), over the quilt and add circles (like seeds) in the middle.
