At school we were looking at Matisse and the Fauves, so as part of my homework I did this self portrait in acrylics. I like this style and the bright colours used.

Max thought it would be good to reflect the colours and style Matisse used for his own self portrait, and used a photograph of himself and a grid to sketch the outline as accurately as possible before painting.
He has access to a wide range of media at home as I am a practising artist.
